Mark Harvey – Freelance Photographer based in Sheffield
Mark Harvey established iD.8 Photography at the Workstation in the centre of Sheffield over 20 years ago and during that time he has developed the freelance photography business serving regional and national clients. iD.8 undertakes all aspects of commercial photography including press, public relations, staff and corporate portraits, product photography, work for marketing agencies producing images for internal and external marketing purposes.
Regular corporate photography clients include Hallam University, DLA Piper, the BBC, Giroscope, Unite, Unison, Sero and Sheffield Council.
Mark has also worked in specialist areas linked to his personal interest in social issues, the legal sector and support for charities and not for profit organisations. He has worked for a number of years with clients such as the Prison Service, the Home Office and the National Probation Service in the legal and justice sector. Images have been used to highlight issues such as drug abuse, offender management and demonstrating what daily life holds for the prison population.
Within the Charities and Not for Profit sectors, iD.8 has developed close relationships with clients such as the Alzheimer’s Association, Action on Hearing Loss, Skill Force, Baker Dearing Educational Trust and Lippy People. Mark has been commissioned to produce photos to be used to illustrate publications, reports, website images and press releases.
Mark has a genuine interest in helping with issues such as homelessness and for the last 4 years has worked as a volunteer with the Cathedral Archer Project in Sheffield. Mark has been dedicated to understanding the complexities of homelessness and challenging the visual narratives and stereotypical images used to portray this issue. He holds weekly photography classes where he has put cameras into the hands of the people he documents. This work has been shown in exhibitions at the Bank Street Studios in Sheffield where Mark is an artist in residence.
Feedback from the customers of iD.8 Photography regularly comment on Mark’s style that creates a relaxed atmosphere which allows for good images to be created. He has a patient approach that ensures the client receives the images to fit the brief.
All images produced from projects are processed, stored and archived for clients who are provided login details to enable future access.
Mark is available for projects large and small and usually operates with 1 hour, 2 hour, half day and full day slots.
